Research has shown that cleansers that leave your skin feeling tight and dry do more harm than good. They damage your skin barrier and make you more prone to acne, eczema, sensitivity and premature ageing. Learn more about cleansers here.
Our Hydrating Gentle Daily Cleanser is a pH balanced, gentle cleanser formulated with oats, green tea, allantoin and glycerin - ingredients that fight free radical damage, and soothe and hydrate your skin. It’s sulfate-free and uses natural, coconut-derived surfactants to create a silky lather that easily, but gently, dissolves grime and impurities without stripping your skin. It’s suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and is fungal acne safe.
Always remember that in skincare, less is more. A simple routine that covers the basics - cleanser, treatment, moisturiser and sunblock - built with good formulations tends to offer the best results. Get in touch if you need help.
Anyone and everyone can use this including teens and pre-teens.
Wearing makeup? Pair it with our Butter but Better Cleansing Balm for a wonderful double cleanse that gently lifts away the dirt, stress and grime of the day.
Got fungal acne? Pair this with our Salicylic Acid Emulsion and AccuHydra, our fungal acne-safe hydrating gel cream moisturiser.
Acne? Pair it with anyone of our salicylic acid products, depending on the severity of your acne, and then follow up with a suitable moisturiser. Read more about acne and incorporating salicylic acid into your routine here.
Dry skin, sensitive skin or a compromised skin barrier? Keep your routine simple. Pair this with our Carbamide Intensive Hydration Cream and Sea Buckthorn Oil. Apply moisturiser liberally while your skin is still damp, right after cleansing.
You’re young and just starting out on your skincare journey? Pair this with our Million Dollar Moisturiser and you’re good to go.
Massage a pea-sized amount into wet skin for 30 seconds to a minute. Rinse off with cool to lukewarm water. Use morning and night. Always remember that it’s never a good idea to over-cleanse no matter how gentle a cleanser is. Two times a day is enough.
Colloidal oats
Oats have been used as a topical treatment for many skin conditions, including dry skin, rashes, and eczema, for centuries. Studies have shown that they result in a clinical improvement in these conditions. They contain antioxidants called phenols that help fight free radical damage and support the skin’s barrier function. They are also anti-inflammatory and help the skin recover from damage.
Green tea extract
Green tea contains polyphenols, called catechins - EGCG in particular-, that exhibit potent antioxidant activity. These phytochemicals fight skin damage caused by UV radiation, thus helping to slow down skin ageing.
Green tea also increases the skin's own production of antioxidant enzymes that fight DNA oxidative damage. Research suggests that it increases collagen and elastin in the skin, and suppresses the production of enzymes that degrade collagen. Studies have also suggested that green tea is anti-inflammatory and helps reduce excess sebum production.
Allantoin
Allantoin is naturally found in the human body and is also commonly found in the food that we eat. It helps wounds heal faster and is commonly added to skin care products to moisturise the skin and soothe irritation.
Glycerin and lactic acid
Lactic acid and glycerin are both naturally found in the skin, where they form part of the skin's Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF). While glycerin is a well-known humectant - an ingredient that keeps the skin hydrated -, lactic acid is better known as an exfoliant. At low concentrations however, lactic acid also acts like a humectant. By keeping the skin hydrated, these compounds facilitate the skin’s barrier function and help it exfoliate normally, among other things. This makes them essential for maintaining healthy skin and preventing conditions like dull skin, acne and eczema.
Surfactant blend
Our Hydrating Gentle Daily Cleanser is sulfate-free and uses natural, coconut-derived surfactants to create a product that is extremely gentle on the skin and cleans without drying or stripping. This ensures that the integrity of your skin barrier is maintained and also makes the product safe for sensitive skin.
